Grapes of Wrath ch.15
Chapter fifteen fits into the theme the importance of the land to the people. Mae and Al work at a roadside cafe and depend on the truck drivers to bring them business. They have other people come into the cafe but they do not want to spend a lot and like to complain. If the truck drivers go to their business people will know that it is a good cafe. It could also fit into the theme strength of women because Mae has to deal with everyone and pretty much runs the business. She gets angry sometimes but is good at her job and knows how to handle the rude people. They are located on route 66 and if they were not they would not get enough money. The truck drivers and the families moving are the only ones that give them business so it is very vital were they are located.

Interesting idea about importance of LAND. What is the land for Mae and Al? Is it the Diner? Is this land? Think about this connection a little further.
